Displaced Sikhs in Pakistan
In 2009 Khalsa Aid provided relief to the Sikh and Hindu refugees at Panja Sahib Gurdwara, Pakistan. The refugees requested Khalsa Aid to provide them with sanitary items. The purchase of these items was made through a donation to Khalsa Aid from a family in London who wanted the money spent directly on provisions for the refugees.
Manjit Kaur, said ” I wanted to do something for the refugees in a real and practical way so my donation is used to purchase much needed everyday items .” Khalsa Aid has a local independent representative in Islamabad who was dispatched to source the required items from Rawalpindi.
