Updates on This Project

Economic migrants from Punjab were positioned in Iraq, working as manual labourers in the county. They were forced to flee the country amid security fears due to the rise of ISIS. The workers did not receive any support from their employers, as a result they did not have any financial means to leave the country.

Khalsa Aid worked with the Indian High Commission in Kuwait to raise awareness of their circumstances. Our MD from India flew out to Kuwait and personally met with officials from the High Commission to guarantee the welfare of the Indian nationals. Khalsa Aid arranged the flights from Iraq back to Punjab.
