Bangladesh Cyclone 2007
The 2007 cyclone in Bangladesh was one of the worst natural disasters to hit the country. International NGOs estimated that between 5,000 – 10,000 died as a result of the cyclone.
Khalsa Aid field operatives made an assessment of the local region and reached out to remote village Pathargaat which had very limited support. A school in the village was destroyed alongside a number of homes. There was desperate need for clean drinking water and food supplies.
Khalsa Aid initiated a four week project where clean drinking water was provided as well as support to rebuild homes.
