Flash Floods in Nepal: Urgent Help Needed for Displaced Families

A catastrophic mountain glacier collapse and flash flood have devastated communities along the Trishuli and Bhote Koshi river valleys in Nepal.

Unstoppable torrents of mud, ice, and debris swept away entire villages, destroying roads, bridges, and homes within minutes. Thousands of families have lost everything. With main transport routes severed and key infrastructure destroyed, remote mountain communities are isolated without shelter, clean drinking water, or food.


Khalsa Aid International is partnering directly with Lions Clubs International in Nepal during this disaster relief. By combining Khalsa Aid’s disaster response expertise with the extensive network of over 100 Lions Clubs across Nepal, our joint field teams are navigating affected areas to assess damages and hand-deliver relief supplies and plan for next steps when the roads will be cleared to reach more affected areas.


Khalsa Aid has stood alongside the people of Nepal during their most challenging times - from deploying emergency teams within 36 hours of the devastating 2015 earthquake to supporting communities through major flood disasters, including in 2024.
