Updates on This Project

More than one million migrants and refugees crossed into Europe in 2015, sparking the biggest refugee crisis in the EU since the Second World War. Khalsa Aid relief teams have been working across Europe in multiple locations to support refugees with vital food and water supplies.

In January 2016, Khalsa Aid launched a major project in Greece, partnering with multiple local organisations to deliver the following over a seven month period:

– ‘Front line’ rescue on the coast of Greece for refugees arriving by boat from the Middle East

– Provision of food, water and clean clothing

–  Medical assistance

– Translation services

– Working alongside local authorities to identify unaccompanied/vulnerable minors; and

– Operations of a community kitchen in Chios and Ioannina feeding 1,100 refugees on a daily basis
