Langar Aid has received the Apex of Achievement Coventry Charity Award 2026 in recognition of its ongoing support for vulnerable communities across the UK through weekly food outreach and humanitarian service.
"We are honoured to receive this award. Achievements like this are a great encouragement and a shared recognition of our incredible volunteers who make this work possible. This year we mark 11 years of serving humanity, and this milestone would not be possible without the seva, dedication and compassion of our volunteers who are truly the backbone of Langar Aid."
- Avtar Kaur, Project Manager, Langar Aid
Langar Aid is a project by Khalsa Aid International and is rooted in the Sikh principle of Seva, meaning selfless service. Through regular outreach across the UK, volunteers provide hot meals, water and essential support to individuals experiencing homelessness and poverty.
The initiative currently serves over 1500 meals every week, offering vital support to people who may otherwise go without a warm meal. Between 2024 and 2025, Langar Aid volunteers helped serve over 1.5 million meals, reflecting the dedication of volunteers and the generosity of supporters who make this work possible.
Beyond providing food, Langar Aid creates a welcoming space where people are treated with dignity, kindness and respect. Volunteers stand beside communities facing hardship and ensure that no one is left feeling unseen or unsupported.
