Khalsa Aid International has launched a National Winter Blanket Drive to help vulnerable communities stay warm during the harsh winter months, in the UK and beyond.

As winter tightens its grip across the UK, Khalsa Aid International has launched its National Winter Blanket Drive, beginning on 14 December, to provide warmth, dignity, and hope to those most affected by the cold.

With collection points established across the country, the appeal has mobilised volunteers, supporters, and local communities to donate blankets and winter essentials. These donations will be distributed over the coming weeks and into the new year to people experiencing homelessness and families facing hardship, ensuring no one is left to endure winter without warmth.

Winter is a particularly challenging time for vulnerable communities. Rising living costs, food insecurity, and freezing temperatures place immense pressure on individuals and families already struggling to make ends meet. Khalsa Aid International’s Winter Drive responds directly to this need, turning compassion into action.

Alongside the Blanket Drive, Khalsa Aid’s Langar Aid team in Coventry continues to provide vital support to vulnerable communities, including people experiencing homelessness or food insecurity. Through the provision of warm meals, essential supplies, and compassionate human connection, Langar Aid offers not just nourishment, but dignity and reassurance. The project also extends essential support to international students in crisis, providing emergency assistance, guidance, and a calm, caring presence during deeply challenging moments.

Khalsa Aid International’s winter response extends far beyond the UK. Across its global chapters, similar winter appeals are underway, reflecting the organisation’s commitment to serving humanity without distinction. Khalsa Aid International is currently distributing clothing and winter essentials in Panjab, India, supporting families affected by devastating floods as they face the added hardship of winter conditions.

Later in December, teams will be delivering coal for heating, essential supplies, and toys to refugee camps in Türkiye near the Syrian border, supporting families who continue to endure extreme hardship due to conflict and displacement.

Speaking about the winter initiatives, Ravi Singh, Founder of Khalsa Aid International, said:

“Winter strips away comfort and safety for millions of people. At Khalsa Aid, we respond with humanity - providing warmth, food, and reassurance to those who need it most, whether they are sleeping rough in the UK or sheltering in camps overseas.”

– Ravi Singh, Founder & CEO of Khalsa Aid International

The success of the Winter Blanket Drive is made possible by the generosity of donors and the tireless efforts of volunteers across the country. Every blanket collected and every meal served is a reminder that compassion, when put into action, has the power to transform lives.
