From 8 to 11 May 2026, Khalsa Aid distributed 1,750 food and hygiene packs to Syrian refugee and earthquake-affected families across southern Türkiye.
Khalsa Aid carried out a four-day relief mission across southern Türkiye, delivering essential food and hygiene supplies to Syrian refugee and earthquake-affected families.
The distributions took place across Kahramanmaraş, Antakya, Yayladağı, Reyhanlı and Kırıkhan – reaching widows, orphaned children, families facing financial hardship and individuals with disabilities.
In total, 1,750 aid units were distributed across five locations.
Supporting families in Kahramanmaraş
The mission began on Friday, 8 May 2026, in Kahramanmaraş, where Khalsa Aid distributed 400 food packs and 400 hygiene packs. Each 20kg food pack was provided alongside a hygiene pack, with one set issued per family.
The distribution primarily supported widows and children who had lost husbands and fathers due to the war and earthquake.
During the distribution, the team spoke with a mother and her 19-year-old daughter, who thanked Khalsa Aid for the support. They explained how the rising cost of living continues to place pressure on vulnerable families.
While some families have started leaving the area in search of stability and employment, others continue to face hardship and rely on humanitarian support.
Reaching families in Antakya and Yayladağı
On Saturday, 9 May 2026, Khalsa Aid distributed 550 aid units across Antakya and Yayladağı.
In Antakya, 250 aid boxes were provided to families in need. The team then travelled to Yayladağı Camp, where a further 300 aid units were distributed to refugee families.
Prioritising individuals with disabilities in Reyhanlı
On Sunday, 10 May 2026, Khalsa Aid distributed 400 aid units across two locations in Reyhanlı Camp.
The team worked with camp organisers to ensure individuals with disabilities, including visually impaired beneficiaries, were prioritised during the distribution.
Final distribution in Kırıkhan
The final day of the mission took place on Monday, 11 May 2026, in Kırıkhan, where 400 aid units were distributed.
This brought the four-day relief mission to a close, with 1,750 aid units delivered across southern Türkiye.
