Khalsa Aid Starts the New Year by Spreading Smiles, Hope and Relief in Syrian Refugee Camps in Türkiye

05 Jan 2026 | Updated 06 Jan 2026

Khalsa Aid marked the New Year by delivering aid to displaced families who begin the year focused on survival, not celebration.

As 2026 began, Khalsa Aid teams were on the ground in Türkiye, supporting displaced Syrian families facing continued hardship and uncertainty.

Our volunteers delivered essential aid across refugee camps, distributing 2,000 food packs containing staples such as pasta, rice, flour, vegetable oil, and pulses, along with 2,000 hygiene kits to support daily health and dignity. We also provided 400 winter hats to protect children from extreme weather conditions.

To support young lives shaped by conflict, our teams organised a toy distribution drive at Aitam Al Sham Orphanage in Gaziantep, home to 100+ children. The visit created moments of warmth, familiarity, and joy for children growing up far from celebration and stability.

In the final phase of 2025, just before the New Year, Khalsa Aid also delivered winter heating support in Idlib, Syria, distributing 75 tonnes of coal to 750 families, with each household receiving 100 kg to meet critical heating needs.

Khalsa Aid continues its mission with one guiding principle: Humanity First, always.
