Haiti Earthquake Aftermath
Haiti Orphans
The most shocking news from Haiti is the number of orphanages which are struggling to provide for the many orphans. Its also true that there are few individuals who are trying to take advantage of foreign aid organisations by setting up fake orphanages.
Khalsa Aid was very fortunate to have close links with the Canadian military who informed us about the fake 'Black Listed' orphanages.
Khalsa Aid has been providing food, water, shelter, charcoal and cooking gas to 4 orphanages in the Leogane district of Haiti. The children loved feeling the beards of the Sikh volunteers and the volunteers from Khalsa Aid equally enjoyed every moment with the children. These orphanages will need many years to recover from the earthquake, Khalsa Aid will continue to provide aid to the orphans for the foreseeable future.
